Behind a big first half against L.D. Bell, the No. 9-ranked Carroll Dragons moved to 2-0 to start the season.
Carroll blasted Bell 45-13 after it jumped out to a 31-10 halftime lead Friday night at Dragon Stadium. The Dragons scored three touchdowns in the second quarter breaking open a close game. Dragon junior quarterback Kenny Hill threw three touchdowns in the second quarter — 74 yards to Sabian Holmes, 13 yards to Peyton Williams and 42 yards to Holmes.
Carroll hits the road for the first time this season playing at Richardson Berkner Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Hill finished 16-for-27 with 263 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He also rushed for 109 yards on 18 carries. Starting running back Steven Bergmark also broke the 100-yard barrier with nine carries for 103 yards, which included a 27-yard touchdown.
Holmes and Williams each had big performances again as Hill’s reliable go-to targets. Holmes had five catches for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Williams had seven catches for 93 yards and two touchdowns.
In two games, Holmes has 16 catches for 307 yards (19 yards per catch) and four touchdowns. Williams has 16 catches for 238 yards (14 yards per catch) and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Hill has 665 yards passing and eight touchdowns with one interception this season.
