CEF Lauds Culinary Celebration 2011

Carroll Education Foundation of Southlake is celebrating another successful Culinary Celebration. This year’s event was held on Sunday, October 9 at the Hyatt Regency DFW.

More than 1,200 people attended this year’s Culinary Celebration. The theme was “Cirque du CEF” and featured costumed performers in a circus setting. However, instead of peanuts and cotton candy, the event brought together ‘three rings’ of great dishes from over 30 restaurateurs from Northeast Tarrant County along with wine and cocktails. In addition to the fabulous food and drink, the ‘midway’ featured a live auction, a wine and jewelry pull and an amazing array of other treasures in a large silent auction. CEF Chairman of the Board Glen Harvell said he was hopeful the entire CISD extended community would attend to help the Carroll Education Foundation in it’s efforts to support students.

The Southlake CEF Culinary Celebration aims  to raise money for students and teachers of Carroll Independent School District. This year, guests helped raise approximately $226,000 exceeding last year’s fundraising by $34,000. The money is used to provide numerous teacher grants and student scholarships benefiting the children of the Carroll Independent School District.

2011 marks 15 years for the annual Culinary Celebration. Cirque du CEF featured more than 30 Metroplex chefs, specialty wines and cocktails, live and silent auctions, a big board and much more. The live auction included exciting items from Park Place Lexus, original artwork from one of our own CISD students, and other fun surprises.

Some of the featured items in the silent auction and big board included sports memorabilia, trips, and jewelry from Grayson Allen Fine Jewelers. The wine pull was also a hit with guests.

In addition to circus performers, musical act Railhead performed for the crowd. Railhead has performed across the DFW Metroplex in numerous venues and at festivals including Southlake’s Oktoberfest. They have been featured at the Hard Rock Café in Atlanta and The House of Blues in Orlando.

This annual fundraiser for Carroll Education Foundation raises funds to support the children and teachers of Southlake Carroll Independent School District. Teachers receive grants from CEF for innovative ideas that will enhance the learning experience of their students. Students can also receive scholarships their senior year from CEF.
