Southlake Sister Cities is currently accepting applications for youth ambassadors to represent Southlake on its annual student exchange trip to Tome, Japan from June 4th-11th, 2012. Ambassadors must be between the ages of 15 – 18 years old and become a member of Southlake Sister Cities. Participants will experience Japanese culture first-hand, during a week-long stay with host families. While in Tome, the youth ambassadors will visit museums, temples and schools, enjoy traditional Japanese cuisine and experience everyday life in Japan. A City of Southlake chaperone will also accompany the ambassadors on their trip.
Interested participants must complete an application and submit a short essay on why they would like to visit Tome, Japan. Recommendations from a teacher or counselor, as well as Principal approval are required.
