Carroll Independent School District and all of its 11 campuses have earned numerous Gold Performance Acknowledgments from the Texas Education Agency.
Gold Performance Acknowledgments (GPA) recognize districts and campuses for high academic performance on various indicators, such as commended performance on Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), college admissions tests, and Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate (AP/IB) examinations. There are 13 different categories in which a GPA can be earned at the district level and 15 different categories at the campus level.
As a district, Carroll ISD earned honors in 11 of 13 categories including AP scores, College-Readiness, SAT/ACT, and for Commended performance in a host of other academic categories. The district fell just short of receiving a Gold Acknowledgment for attendance.
“We are extremely proud of the Gold Acknowledgments our district and each campus have earned,” said Superintendent DavidFaltys. “TEA’s acknowledgment program is just another indicator showing the outstanding achievements of our students and staff. We never take these successes for granted rather we celebrate together and begin to raise the bar again with regard to academic excellence.”
At the campus level, all of the CISD schools earned multiple Gold Acknowledgments in the various categories or indicators. Every single CISD campus earned the honor for Commended Reading and Commended Math indicators. Seven campuses also earned Commended Writing honors, while six earned Commended Science and four earned Commended Social Studies.
