Dragons Excel At Nation's Largest High School Debate Tournament

Carroll ISD was well represented at this year’s Glenbrooks Debate Tournament in Chicago. This is the largest high school tournament in the nation.

Senior, Paul Samuel received the Top Award for the Best Legislation written for the tournament. His legislation was on the military deployment in Pakistan. More than 300 entries were in Congressional Debate and Paul advanced to the top 45.

Receiving bids to the Tournament of Champions at the University of Kentucky were Sophomore, Daniella Cohen and Junior, Megan Schippmann. Both advanced to the final round of the top 20 and Daniella finished in 13th place and Megan placed 8th overall.

Students are preparing to compete at the University of Texas, scheduled for the weekend of December 3.
