Taste Of Transportation Tradition

The Carroll ISD Transportation Department hosted a Chili/ Stew Cook-Off on Wednesday, Nov. 9. Everyone from dispatchers, to bus drivers, to mechanics participated in the annual event. This is the 17th year for the cooking contest.

This year, there were 12 entries and seven judges. The judges included Carroll ISD administrators, principals, secretaries and additional staff members. The judges selected first, second and third place in two different categories: chili and stew.

The winners in the chili category are: Cecily Holstrom, first place for her “Army Brat’s SOS Chili”, second place went to Martha Lewis for her “Motor Pool Chili” and third place was awarded to Pauline Bryan for her “Veterans Day Chili”.

The winners in the stew category are: Elie Gardner, first place for her “Ships Galley Stew”, Erlinda McIntire received second place for her “Boot Camp Stew” and Gary Stringer received third place for his “Staff Sergeant’s Stew”.
