The faculty and staff at Johnson Elementary School welcomed guests Thursday, Dec. 1 after school for a special open house event. The “JES Showcase” was an opportunity for parents of students and the general public to see new improvements to the campus.

Construction crews recently completed renovations across the campus as part of the 2009 Bond. The project included expansions to the office and library. Teachers and students are enjoying and new computer lab and improved science lab. Windows were added to the school gym as well as a separate bus entrance and parking lot on the school’s south side.

Mr. Jack Johnson, the school’s namesake attended Thursday’s event for a short while. Carroll ISD Trustee Craig Rothmeier also toured the campus. Guests were allowed to wander through the JES hallways and were treated to cookies and drinks as part of the reception.
