The Carroll Dragons’ boys basketball team produced its first District 7-5A last Friday against Keller Central. The Dragons earned a 48-46 overtime win to improve to 1-2 in district and 11-11 overall. Carroll was led by Max Berman’s 13 points. Josh Stringer added nine and Brett Jolly and Clay Youngblood each chipped in eight. Carroll also handed Keller Central its first district loss. The Dragons held a five-point lead at halftime and into the fourth quarter before Central rallied to force overtime. The Dragons host Saginaw Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
Lady Dragons Blast Keller Central
The Lady Dragons remained undefeated in District 7-5A with a 55-24 victory against Keller Central last Friday. Carroll improved to 20-2 and 5-0 in district. The Lady Dragons were led by Kami Mickens’ 11 points and Kennedy Leonard supplied 10. Kate Lewis and Sierra Maykus added seven apiece. Carroll was up by just four points after the first quarter, but outscored Central 34-8 over the next two quarters. Carroll returns to action Tuesday when it hosts Saginaw at 6 p.m.
