Basketball Teams Sweep Denton Guyer

The Dragon boys’ basketball team remained hot in District 7-5A action. Carroll posted a 61-48 road victory at Denton Guyer last Friday to improve 3-2 in league play while Guyer fell to 1-4. The Dragons, who travel to face Fossil Ridge at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday night, were led by Max Berman’s game-high 27 points. Steve Knowlton added 13 and Josh Stringer had six. Carroll held a five-point lead after three quarters and outscored Guyer 19-11 in the fourth.  Keller Central leads 7-5A at 4-1 and Carroll is one of five teams tied for second at 3-2. Central’s only district loss came against the Dragons.

Lady Dragons Blast Guyer
The Lady Dragons kept their edge in 7-5A with a 52-39 victory at Denton Guyer last Friday. Carroll moved to 7-0 in district and 22-2 overall and dropped Guyer to 20-6 overall and 5-2 in 7-5A. The Lady Dragons produced four double-digit scorers led by Kayla Reinhart’s 14 points. Gretchen Morrison had 13 while Kate Lewis and Kami Mickens had 10 apiece. Carroll plays at Fossil Ridge at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
