Carroll Swimmers Go Undefeated At Duel

The Carroll Dragon boys’ and girls’ swimming teams went undefeated at the Katy “Duel in the Pool.” The event featured eight teams in a Dual Meet format.  The Dragons finished 7-0 and the Lady Dragons were also 7-0. The boys’ closest winning score of the seven matches was 182-103 vs. Round Rock Westwood. The girls’ closest winning score of the seven matches was 188-98 vs. last year’s State Champion Kingwood. 

Top two relay finishers for the Dragons included:
1st 200 Med Relay 1:49.83 with Lyndsie Gibson, Elise Weisert, Sydney Wheeler and Taylor Derevyanik
2nd 200 Med Relay 1:38.59 with Jonathan Roberts, John Remetta, Curtis goss and Ryan Walker
2nd 200 Free Relay 1:41.47 with Lindsay Schultz, Emily Zapinski, Lauren Wheeler and Taylor Derevyanik
1st 200 Free Relay 1:29.86 with Ted Singley, John Ausdenmoore, John Remetta and Jonathan Roberts
1st 400 Free Relay  3:38.68 with Emily Zapinski, Lindsay Schultz, Rebecca Upton and Lyndsie Gibson
1st 400 Free Relay 3:16.12 with Ted Singley, John Ausdenmoore, Ryan Walker and Curtis Goss

The Dragons are now looking forward to the 1st Annual “Battle of 1709” on Thursday, Jan. 19 at the C.I.S.D. Aquatics Center.  This meet, in “dual meet format” will feature Carroll ISD vs. Keller ISD (all four Keller schools as one combined Team). Senior Night Introductions will begin at 6 p.m., with competition beginning at 6:25 p.m.  This should be a very competitive and exciting meet to finish the dual meet season in the run-up to our hosting of the District 6-5A Championships Friday (diving) and Saturday (swimming) Jan 27-28 at 1 p.m.
