The Dragons’ boys basketball earned a big District 7-5A victory at home Tuesday night against Northwest. Carroll held off the Texans 42-37 to move to 14-13 overall and 4-4 in district. Northwest fell to 5-3 in district. The Dragons, led by Max Berman’s game-high 18 points, had an offensive breakout in the fourth quarter with 17 points. In the first quarter, the Dragons were held to four points and trailed by one at halftime. Brett Jolly added 11 points for the Dragons. Carroll returns to action Friday at 7:30 p.m. at rival Coppell.
Lady Dragons Roll Past Northwest
The Lady Dragons rebounded from their only district loss with a 90-36 home victory Tuesday against Northwest. Carroll (24-3, 9-1 in 7-5A) produced four scorers in double figures, led by Kate Lewis’ 19 points. Caitlin Barnett and Kennedy Leonard scored 15 apeice and Sierra Maykus added 12. The Lady Dragons scored 20 or more points in all four quarters and had the game well in hand by halftime with a 43-17 lead. The Lady Dragon travel to face rival Coppell on Friday at 6 p.m.
