Southlake Best Buddies Organization will be celebrating Valentine’s Day 2012 in high style thanks to Carroll ISD students.

Best Buddies is a national group dedicated to establishing one on one friendships, employment and development for those with intellectual disabilities. Thanks to Carroll ISD High School teacher Amelia Dye, Best Buddies has opened doors to friendship and employment for area special needs youth.

Saturday, Feb. 11 SASO (Scholars and Athletes Serving Others) will host a Valentine’s Day extravaganza for Best Buddies members from across the area. The evening will be a special one, with dinner, dancing, friendship and fun. SASO members will host the event overseeing set-up, decorations, table service and clean-up. This is the first time an organization has volunteered to sponsor and host this event.

SASO members consist of male, high school students and their mothers. Read this post for more information about SASO.
