The Carroll Dragons are riding a hot streak. Carroll has won five consecutive games and clinched a playoff berth in District 7-5A with two games remaining in the regular season – Tuesday, March 20 at Saginaw and Thursday, March 29 at home against Denton Guyer (Senior Night). The Dragons’ biggest victory during this stretch was a 1-0 victory at previously-undefeated Coppell on March 9 as Carroll avenged a tough loss earlier in the season to its rival. The defending Class 5A state champions are 14-6-3 overall and 8-3 in District 7-5A. Highlights below from the Coppell victory, which included the game’s only goal on a header by Jack Parrish.
Lady Dragons Clinch Playoff Berth
The Carroll Lady Dragons are headed to the state playoffs and are one game out of first place in District 7-5A with two games remaining. The Lady Dragons tied Coppell and defeated Keller Central in their last two games. Carroll hosts Senior Night Tuesday, March 20 at Dragon Stadium at 7:30 p.m. against Saginaw. The Lady Dragons close the regular season on Thursday, March 29 at Denton Guyer before the start of playoffs the following week. Sophie Groff is among the area leaders in goals with 27 and Lissi Lonsberry has 17. Julia Dyche leads Carroll with 20 goals.
