Dragon Football Coaches Receive Outstanding Honors

The National Football Foundation Gridiron Club honored Carroll coach Hal Wasson (far right) as the Class 5A Coach of the Year and his brother and Carroll defensive coordinator Tim Wasson (far left) as the 5A Assistant Coach of the Year. The National Football Federation Gridiron Club of Dallas held its annual banquet last week. Carroll Dragon football coach Hal Wasson was named Class 5A Coach of the Year after leading the Dragons to the 5A Division I state championship and 16-0 record. The title marked the eighth in school history. Also, Hal Wasson’s brother Tim was named 5A Assistant Coach of the Year. Tim Wasson, Carroll’s defensive coordinator, led a Dragon defensive unit that shined during the championship run.
