Carroll Faculty and Staff Celebrate End of School Year

The Carroll Independent School District marked the end of a successful school year with it’s annual End of Year Celebration for faculty and staff. This amazing event is made possible by donations to the school’s We Care Employee Appreciation Program. The End of Year Celebration was held at Carroll Middle School on Wednesday, May 23 at 4:00 p.m. Food was catered by Carroll ISD marketing partner Central Market. Guests were also able to register to win door prizes given away throughout the event.

Emceed by Superintendent Dr. David Faltys, Carroll employees were recognized in front of their colleagues. Honors and recognition included years of service, retirees, campus teachers of the year and district teachers of the year. The Auxiliary Service Award was given to Ellen Channel, Carroll Middle School Cafeteria and Jose Rodriguez, Walnut Grove Custodian. The Paraprofessional Service Award was given to Janet Blackwell, Special Programs Secretary. The Community Service Award was presented to Debbie Edwards from Walnut Grove Elementary and The Distinguished Service Award was presented to Jack D. Johnson, Carroll ISD Superintendent of Schools 1959- 1986 and John Lowery, Carroll ISD Superintendent of Schools from 1987- 1989.

Carroll ISD Campus Teachers of the Year were also recognized on stage. Click here to read more about this year’s winners.  Lance Mangham, Durham Intermediate Math teacher was named K-6 Teacher of the Year and Nichole Gilley, Teen Leadership teacher at Carroll Senior High School was named Secondary Teacher of the Year. Both of these individuals received prizes from Carroll ISD supporters and sponsors, including Chick-fil-A, Educational Employees Credit Union, The Carroll Education Foundation, The Southlake Chamber of Commerce and Park Place Lexus.
