CMS Students Donate Money To Global Outreach

Members of the Carroll Middle School National Junior Honor Society present a $600 check to Sandy Shepherd of Global Outreach Wednesday at CMS.

Carroll ISD schools are known for giving back and helping those in need. Carroll Middle School is  another example of Southlake giving back.  The Carroll Middle School National Junior Honor Society presented a $600 check to Sandy Shepherd of the Global Outreach Program to help fill the needs of the J.O. Chifungo school in Zambia. The presentation was held Wednesday at CMS.

The National Junior Honor Society, comprised of 55 eighth-grade students, raised the money over a three-week period by selling candy at CMS during lunch.  The $600 will be used to purchase a professional copier for the Zambian school for the teachers. The check will also be hand delivered to the school by Shepherd when she leaves for Zambia in three weeks to check in on the school and the community.  This is the third consecutive year the CMS National Junior Honor Society has worked with this school.  The past two years they raised money with a car wash and bake sale.
