Carroll Graduates Largest Class in School History

Under clear skies and pleasant temperatures, Carroll Independent School District hosted Commencement for the Class of 2012. This year’s graduating class of 685 students is the largest in school history. The ceremony was held Friday, June 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Dragon Stadium. Family and friends packed the home side of the stadium to cheer for their favorite graduate. Students walked across the field to the traditional Pomp and Circumstance music played live by members of the Carroll Senior High Band.

The ceremony began with the National Anthem played by graduate Taylor White followed by welcome remarks from Senior Class President Clare Burns. Patrick Liu was named his year’s Valedictorian and Greeshma Rajeev-Kumar was named Salutatorian. Click here to read more about their accomplishments.

Following the speeches, Superintendent Dr. David Faltys gave the Acceptance of the Class of 2012 and students prepared to accept their diplomas from retiring Carroll Senior High School Principal, Mike Rhodes. The ceremony ended with a touching performance from the Carroll Senior High Choir of Carroll’s Alma Mater. The entire event lasted about 2 and a half hours.
