Burn Ban Issued for Southlake–Tarrant County

The City of Southlake is under a burn ban for at least the next 90 days.  No burn permits will be issued during this time. The burn ban follows recommendations from Tarrant County officials who issued a 90 day outdoor burn ban effective today.

Tarrant County made the recommendation after the Texas Forest Service and the Tarrant County Fire Marshal determined that unincorporated areas in the county are under drought conditions.  This move will help protect the lives and property of residents in Tarrant County.

A violation of the Court Order Prohibiting Outdoor Burning is a Class “C” Misdemeanor and punishable by a fine of up to $2,000. We urge all residents to comply with the burn ban to help prevent fires during these extremely dry conditions.

If you have any questions, please contact Fire Marshal David Barnes at 817-748-8233.
