Get Involved with The City’s Boards and Commissions

The Southlake City Council invites you to apply for a City board or commission. As a City of Southlake board or commission member, you will have an opportunity to shape your community by advising the Southlake City Council and Mayor on issues ranging from residential and commercial development to public art, park areas, senior activities, the library and more.

The Council will make appointments in October to the following boards and commissions:

  • Library Board
  • Senior Advisory Commission
  • Southlake Arts Council
  • Southlake Business Council
  • SPIN Standing Committee
  • Metroport Teen Court Advisory Board

“If you are passionate about making a difference in this community, please get involved,” said Mayor John Terrell. “The members of the City’s boards and commissions are really the unsung heroes of City government.  Their time and dedication helps lay the groundwork for the Council to make important investments in to the City’s future.”

To learn more about the responsibilities associated with the above board and commission appointments, click here.  Each appointment is for a term of two years, unless you are appointed to fulfill an existing vacancy for an unexpired term.

Applications may be obtained from the City’s website. Completed applications can be e-mailed to arichardson@ci.southlake.tx.us, faxed to (817) 748- 8270 and mailed or hand delivered to the City Secretary’s Office, 1400 Main Street, Suite 270, Southlake, Texas 76092.

Applications must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September, 5th.  City Council will review applications and schedule interviews with prospective applicants.  Interviews will take place on Tuesday, October 9th.
