Dragon Comp-Sci Takes Top Honors at Holiday Tournament

The Carroll Computer Science team earned a big win at the Richardson High School Invitational Competition. The Thanksgiving-week contest included 38 teams from across the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Dragon classmates Reid Long, Erik Andrup, and George Farcasiu won the first place team award, combining the results of a 2-hour programming contest with individual written test scores over the java programming language. Long and Andrup also took home Advanced Individual awards, second and fifth place respectively. Student Ellie Miller also won an Advanced Individual award in her first ever competition.

Coach Linda Woessner said all of the students showed dedication and hard work, giving up part of the holiday break to represent the Dragons in a challenging academic competition. Abbas Ally, Eric Andrup, Danielle Brown, Deepak Chandra, George Farcasiu, Tunc GoCay, Matt Kendzior and Reid Long.
