Former Carroll Student Really Plays with His Food

Computer whiz Christian Genco is getting a lot more attention than usual these days. The Carroll graduate (class of 2009) and current SMU senior appeared on television lately showing his unusual homemade musical instrument. Genco designed a computer that plays musical note every time he consumes food or drink. Different foods are assigned different notes. A clip of his performance from the SMU talent show is posted on YouTube. Click here to watch it.

Earlier this month, Genco appeared on local television program Good Morning Texas and will be a featured speaker at the TEDxKids and TEDxSMU event Nov. 30- Dec. 1. Click here to watch both events free via live-stream.

Genco is a President’s Scholar majoring in Computer Science at SMU’s Lyle School of Engineering. Learn more about his work through his website, ChristianGenco.com.
