The Carroll Administration Center will be open for limited business December 17-21 while employees box up and move to their new location at 2400 North Carroll Avenue in Southlake. The district has been renovating the old Carroll Middle School building to house all administrative operations, as well as technology services and a teacher training center.
Superintendent David J. Faltys said phone and email service may be temporarily interrupted by the move as school officials work to relocate the district’s email and telephone systems. Employees in Child Nutrition Services, Special Programs and Athletic Services will be joining all the departments previously located at the Administrative building located at Dove and Kimball. Trustees say they will be declaring the current property surplus and will likely place it on the market in early 2013.
The new Administration Center will feature offices, additional meeting and storage space, as well as a state-of-the art School Board meeting room and warehouse space. The lobby will have a special area dedicated to the history of the district and officials say retail space has been set aside for a Dragon store. The renovation project is one of the final remaining projects included in the 2009 Bond Program.
Administrators will be moving in before the core spaces are completed. A ribbon cutting/open house will not be held until sometime in early March.
