High Winds Come with Potential Increase in Noise Overnight

DFW airport has informed the City of Southlake that the coming high winds in the area could lead to operational changes at the airport causing an increase in departures over Southlake.  High cross winds are predicted for this evening, December 19,  beginning around midnight and lasting to as late as mid-afternoon tomorrow, Thursday, December 20th.  If this forecast remains valid, it is likely that the FAA may be required to use the diagonal runways for some arrivals and departures.  The cities of Irving, Coppell, Southlake and Grapevine could all experience significant numbers of arrivals to or departures from the east and west diagonal runways which could increase noise levels.

For inquiries and complaints:  The Noise Complaint Hotline phone number is 972-973-3192.  This number is manned 24/7 though if the Operations Center is busy you may have to leave a voice mail.   Your complaint or inquiry will be taken and forwarded to the Noise Compatibility Office (NCO).  A response will be provided if one is requested.  Faster responses typically can be achieved by using E-mail which will go directly to the NCO.  The link is dfwnoise@dfwairport.com.  Be sure to include name, phone number, and full address with your inquiry/complaint when making a voice mail or e-mail message.
