Southlake to Host the 2012 Young Artists and Authors Showcase

The City of Southlake and Southlake Sister Cities will host the 2012 Young Artists and Authors Showcase from December 16, 2012 – January 25, 2013 in the Town Hall lobby. The showcase is an annual competition hosted by Sister Cities International (SCI) that encourages youth from around the globe to express the mission of SCI through original artwork and literature. A designated theme is announced each year, and participating students submit their work through their local SCI affiliate to Washington D.C. where a panel of judges selects the winners based on originality, composition, and theme interpretation. After the finalists for art and literature have been announced, they embark on a year-long tour hosted by local sister city programs on a monthly basis.
