Dragon Trio Earns Class 5A All-State Selections

The Associated Press Class 5A All-State teams were announced Thursday and three senior Dragons were honored.

Quarterback Kenny Hill earned one of the state’s top accolades. He was named 5A Offensive Player of the Year adding to the tradition of Dragon quarterbacks winning the award. Hill, also the first-team quarterback selection, threw for 2,291 yards and 20 touchdowns and rushed for 905 yards and 22 TDs during at the regular season. Last year, Hill was named first-team, all-state quarterback by the Texas High School Sports Writers Association.

Offensive tackle Cam Manning also earned a first-team selection as the top lineman on an offense that produced more than 500 yards per game. Senior safety Tanner Jacobson was named honorable mention defensive back.
