AEIS Public Hearing Scheduled For Monday

The academic performance of Carroll ISD students compiled through the state’s Academic Excellence Indicator System (AEIS) will be presented during a public hearing at the Jan. 14 Carroll ISD School Board Meeting. All public schools in the state are required to present a summary of annual AEIS reports, which are published by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) each fall. The results are based on the 2011-2012 school year.

The Carroll ISD School Board meeting will begin with executive session at 5:30 p.m. followed by the open meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Johnson Elementary School auditorium, located at 1101 North Carroll Avenue in Southlake.

Due to the lack of state assessment results for most grades, and no accountability information, the AEIS reports are substantially reduced this year. Performance measures include only TAKS results for grades 10 and 11 by subject and student groups, dropout and attendance rates, completion of advanced high school classes and graduation programs, and participation in college admissions tests.

Members of the public are invited to attend and share comments with the Board of Trustees. School and district AEIS reports also are published online with other campus and district performance indicators at http://ritter.tea.state.tx.us/perfreport/aeis/2012/index.html
