Both Carroll basketball teams produced Friday victories against Haltom in District 4-5A action. The Lady Dragons overcame a slow start to rout Haltom 75-49. Carroll trailed 15-12 after the first quarter, but exploded with a 33-point second quarter and held the Lady Buffalos eight points for a 22-point halftime lead. Carroll was led by Gretchen Morrison, who scored a game-high 23 points. Kennedy Leonard added 16 points and Kami Mickens had 11. The Lady Dragons improved to 11-7 overall and 5-1 in district play.
The Dragons won 72-63 as they moved to 3-2 in district play and 14-9 overall. Both Carroll teams return to action Tuesday as they host Keller Central. The Lady Dragons play at 6:30 p.m. and the Dragons follow at 8 p.m.
