Lady Dragons Bounce Northwest; Dragons Fall

Lady Dragons Roll Northwest
The Lady Dragons blasted Northwest last Friday 77-31 to remain in first place in District 4-5A. Carroll received a big boost by the combination of Kennedy Leonard and Gretchen Morrison. The duo combined for 51 points, led by Leonard’s game-high 26 points and was named the Dallas Morning News Girls’ Player of the Week. Morrison added 25 as the Lady Dragons produced another stifling defensive effort. The Lady Dragons (16-7 overall, 10-1 in 4-5A) held Northwest to single digits in three of the four quarters. Three games remain in district play and the Lady Dragons host Keller at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Dragons Fall To Texans
Carroll fell to 16-11 overall and 5-4 in District 4-5A in a 52-45 setback against Northwest. The Dragons were led by Daniel Brown’s 15 points. Brett Jolly added nine and Cole Partyka chipped in seven. The Dragons trailed by six points at halftime and the Texans extended their lead to nine entering the fourth quarter. Carroll, currently the fourth place team 4-5A, returns home Tuesday and faces Keller at 8 p.m. Keller is tied for first place in district with Richland.
