Soccer Update: Groff Becomes Career Scoring Leader

The following is an update of the Carroll boys’ and girls’ soccer teams…

Groff Breaks School Scoring Record
Lady Dragon soccer player Sophie Groff became the program’s all-time leading scorer last week. With the 67th goal of her career, she broke the Lady Dragon scoring record which was set from 2002-2005 by Kristen Moran. Groff has helped lead the Lady Dragons to a 11-1 record in the early season as the team has outscored foes 29-3. Carroll begins District 4-5A action Tuesday at Keller Central at 7:30 p.m.

Dragons Finish 3-1 In Round Rock
The Dragons competed in their final preseason tournament last weekend at Round Rock. Carroll went 3-1 in the tournament, which included victories against Round Rock McNeil (1-0); Rock Round Rock Westwood (5-0); Stoney Point (4-1).  The only loss was to Round Rock, 1-0. The Dragons now prepare for the District 4-5A opener Tuesday against Keller Central at Dragon Stadium at 7 p.m.
