Soccer Update: Lady Dragons Take Second In Tourney

The following is an update of last week’s action for Carroll soccer…

Lady Dragons Take Second Place
The Carroll Lady Dragons finished second in the Allison Horn Memorial Tournament held last weekend in Colleyville and Grapevine. The Lady Dragons lost 1-0 to McKinney Boyd in the championship and suffered their first loss of the season. The Lady Dragons defeated Arlington (3-1), Grapevine (1-0) and Nolan (2-0) before facing McKinney Boyd. Carroll also defeated Sachse on Monday. Carroll returns to action Thursday and face Cibolo Steele in the opener of the Governor’s Cup tournament at East View High School in Georgetown. The Lady Dragons face Round Rock on Friday and Oak Ridge on Saturday.

Dragons Earn Consolation Championship
The Dragons competed in the Duncanville Tournament last weekend and earned the Consolation Bracket championship. Carroll went 2-1 in the tourney and defeated Dallas Jesuit (2-0) and Temple (2-0) and lost to Irving (2-1) in the opener. The Dragons face Sam Houston at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday at Dragon Stadium before hitting the road for tournament action in Round Rock beginning Thursday. Carroll faces Round Rock Westwood on Thursday, Stoney Point and Round Rock on Friday and Round Rock McNeil on Saturday.
