Southlake Burglary Alert

Southlake Police Chief Steve Mylett has an important alert regarding a recent burglary in Southlake:

Early Monday morning, between the hours of 1:45am and 6am, unknown individuals entered a residence in the 500 block of Fox Glen stealing an undetermined amount of property. The suspects entered the residence through an opened garage door while the residents were home and asleep.

Burglaries such as these are rare, but given the fact the suspects continued to commit the crime apparently aware residents were home raises obvious concerns. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood to the Dispatch Center. The non-emergency dispatch number at 817-743-4524. Residents are encouraged to apply simple safety measures to better secure their homes such as locking doors and windows even if residents are home. Police witness numerous residential burglaries and thefts due to residents forgetting to lock doors and close garage doors both during the daytime and in the overnight hours.

In addition to their Patrol duties, Officers who come across an open garage in the overnight hours will attempt to make contact with the resident and bring the issue to their attention. By providing this service, we hope to reduce the possibility of victimization.

The Southlake Police Department is working hard to identify the suspects who committed the Burglary in the Fox Glen neighborhood. If you have any information regarding this or any other crime please contact Sgt. Jeff Marler at 817-748-8341 or you can log onto www.CityofSouthlake/DistrictSergeant to locate your District Police Sergeant.
