Dragons Drop Keller In Extra Innings

KELLER – Carroll needed extra innings to get past Keller last Friday in District 4-5A baseball action.

The No. 6 nationally-ranked (Baseball America) Dragons outlasted Keller 5-4 in 12 innings to remain undefeated in district action. Carroll improved to 17-2 overall and 5-0 in district. The Dragons took their final lead in the top of the 12th behind two base hits and a Keller wild pitch. Carroll led 2-0 before Keller tied the game in the bottom of the fifth. Keller rallied again in the bottom of the seventh with two runs to send the game to extra innings at 4-4. The Dragons finished with 10 hits.

Chris Altimont led the Dragons with four hits and three RBI. Carroll ace Tyler Alexander went six innings and had seven strikeouts.

DIS will be recognized at the Dragons vs. Fossil Ridge game, Tuesday, March 26 at 7 p.m. All DIS students wearing a DIS or Dragon T-shirt will be admitted free. Please note, all adults must pay the gate fee per UIL rules. Students should check in at the DIS check-in table at the front gate.

Play It Forward Southlake
The Dragon Varsity baseball team is collecting gently used baseball equipment to donate to Play It Forward Southlake. All fans donating a piece of equipment will be entered into a drawing for a prize. A Play It Forward Southlake collection barrel will be available at all home games. Please look for the barrel and a student representative at the entrance gate to donate equipment and receive a raffle ticket.
