Tuesday Night Lights: Carroll Teams Make History

For the first time in Carroll ISD history, the baseball and softball teams played under the lights on their home campus. The Dragon baseball team and Lady Dragon softball team celebrated the event last Tuesday when both teams hosted District 4-5A games at the same time. The night’s festival atmosphere drew more than 2,000 fans to the Carroll Senior High School complex. The pre-game field ceremony included comments from Carroll ISD School Board President Read Ballew and Superintendent Dr. David Faltys. Dawson Middle School principal Ryan Wilson sang the National Anthem. Before the first pitch, both the Dragon and Lady Dragon lineups were announced on the Dragon baseball field.

Later in the night, a power supply malfunction occurred and the lights on both fields went out and both games were suspended to the following day. The Dragons completed the victory against Keller Timber Creek last Wednesday 9-2. The Lady Dragons also concluded their game with a victory 11-1 against Northwest.
