Come Join The Crowd at Relay 2013
For the past three years, Relay For Life Southlake has brought thousands of participants including Carroll ISD students, faculty and staff to the track at Carroll High School. The event was first organized by students who were members of the Friends of Rachel Clubs in CISD schools. In honor of those who battle cancer 24-hours a day, team members typically take turns walking the track throughout the night for 12 hours. For those not walking, there is around-the-clock activities and fun to keep everyone busy. Teams will be busy fundraising throughout the night, so guests are encouraged to bring cash/checkbooks to the event. There will be on-site security at Relay.

Camping at Relay
Setup can take place on Thursday, May 2 from 5-8 p.m. and Friday, May 3 from 9 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Entertainment at Relay
The Relay For Life Southlake Committee has organized team fundraisers, activities and live performances to keep Relay participants entertained throughout the night. Some of this year’s team fundraising activities include: face painting, pie throwing, a photo booth, hair candy, a car bash, and for the first time at Relay a dodgeball tournament. There will be live entertainment on two stages during the event. The City Stage will be located in the carnival area. The Main Stage will be on the field; Griffin House is this year’s headliner.  All activities must be held in the carnival area (northeast of the tennis courts) and must be registered with Tina Wasserman at tina@thewassermans.net. The popular Mr. Relay Pageant returns this year. Pick your favorite male team member to dress in women’s clothing, carry a purse and collect donations during Relay. The contestant with the most money raised will be crowned “Mr. Relay 2013”!

Hungry at Relay
This year’s food vendors include some of Southlake’s most popular family restaurants. McAlister’s and Nothing Bundt Cakes will be selling sandwiches and sweet treats. Relay participants can also purchase various concessions including funnel cakes, deep fried pickles, hot wings, corn dogs, chicken-on-a-stick and many other traditional fair foods. Ice will not be sold on site this year, guests will need to bring their own ice to Relay. Be sure to stay at Relay throughout the night and into the early morning hours for a free pancake breakfast cooked on the spot by local Kiwanis Club members.
