CES Hosts Dallas Mavericks Assembly

Well known for their basketball skills as well as their work in the community, the Dallas Mavericks provided a school assembly called “Making Greater Choices” for Kindergarten-4th grade at Carroll Elementary School on Tuesday, June 4.

The Mavericks’ mascot, Champ, as well as Mavs Man and two ManiACCs joined CES to thank teachers for their hard work and remind the students to make good choices. When asked why Carroll Elementary School was chosen for this program, CES Principal, Stacy Wagnon, replied, “Because we are awesome!”

These Mavs representatives also entertained the school with amazing dunks by Mavs Man and drawings for teachers. Sponsored by Kirby’s Steakhouse in Southlake, the drawing’s winners included CES teachers Julia Campbell, Sue Cosgrove, Dana Scott and Rachael Hulse. They received a $75 Kirby’s gift card, a Mavs T-shirt and Mavericks beads.

A fun way to help wrap up the end of the school year, the Mavericks encouraged the children to remember the four words that MAVS stands for: motivation, activation, vision and solution. A positive message was delivered along with fun tricks and lots of high-fives from the Mavericks mascots.
