The Dallas Symphony Orchestra (DSO) today announces the second season of DSO on the GO, presented by The Ebby Halliday Companies and TACA (The Arts Community Alliance). This season’s schedule includes two Southlake performances at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church on October 3, 2013 and May 22, 2014.

DSO on the GO features the full Dallas Symphony Orchestra playing classical and pops concerts in eight cities and neighborhoods across North Texas. These concerts feature familiar classical pieces and popular light classics with concerto soloists who are principal musicians from the DSO.

The itinerary for the 2013/14 DSO on the GO series includes the Dallas Symphony’s debut in Terrell, Texas, on September 3, 2013, and the series debut of Music Director Jaap van Zweden on October 13, 2013, in Frisco. In many communities, musicians from the DSO will also lead seminars and master classes in local schools for student musicians.

“The Dallas Symphony is excited to build upon the tremendous success of DSO on the GO last year,” said Dallas Symphony President and CEO Jonathan Martin. “With the generosity of our sponsors and the enthusiastic partnership of educators, churches and arts leaders in area communities, Maestro van Zweden and the musicians of the DSO are able to engage and entertain even more music lovers around North Texas sharing great performances in beautiful concert venues near their homes.”

DSO on the GO was launched in 2012 with classical concerts in Allen and Southlake. In 2012-2013, its first full season, DSO on the GO featured classical and pops concerts in Allen, Southlake, Denton, Frisco, Mansfield, Park Cities, North Oak Cliff (Dallas) and Greenville.
