Dragons Roll Past Temple 38-7

WACO – The Carroll Dragons went on the road for the first time this season and produced another dominating performance.

The Dragons rolled past Temple 38-7 last Friday at Baylor’s Floyd Casey Stadium. The Dragons improved to 2-1 on the season and will have a bye week before District 4-5A begins Friday, Sept. 27 at home against Keller Central.

Carroll led 21-7 at halftime. Dragon quarterback Ryan Agnew led the team to 490 offensive yards. He was 17-for-31 passing with 244 yards and two touchdowns and rushed 18 times for 144 yards and two touchdowns. Keaton Duhon was Carroll’s leading receiver with seven catches for 108 yards. Luke Timian and Joe Heineman each caught TD passes.

The Dragon defense forced four turnovers and held Temple scoreless in the second half. Carroll was led by linebacker J.B. Copeland, who had an interception and forced fumble and added six solo tackles and nine assists. Copeland is a candidate for the Star-Telegram’s player of the week.
