Carroll Wind Ensemble Earns National Honors

2013-14 Members of the Carroll Middle School Wind Ensemble

The CMS Wind Ensemble won this honor by submitting a recording this past May of their challenging program of music that included Circle Days March by Karl L. King and Steel by Randall D. Standridge.

All entrants receive a compilation CD recording of the winning band performances. Winners are also recognized in regional and national publications and conventions.

The adjudicators for the project were Colonel John R. Bourgeois, retired Director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, and Dr. Kraig Alan Williams, Director of Bands, Associate Professor of Music and Director of the Wind Studies Program at the Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University.

The members of the CMS Wind Ensemble are to be commended for representing their school and community at the national level in the highest regard, for their hard work, dedication and unprecedented success throughout the year.

The CMS Wind Ensemble is directed by Michael Oglesby, Nathan Brazell, and Sara Scott.
