Dragon Offense Explodes Against Northwest

Quarterback Ryan Agnew was 19-for-20 passing with 317 yards and five TDs against Northwest.

JUSTIN – The Carroll Dragons had a thunderous response to trailing for the first time in District 4-5A play against Northwest.

The Dragon offense ignited and the defense slammed the door against the early challenge. After trailing twice, the Dragons produced a 35-point first quarter en route to a 63-21 victory on a chilly and rainy night at Northwest ISD Stadium. Carroll won its sixth consecutive game and improved to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in district. With Fossil Ridge’s loss to Keller Central, the Dragons are now in sole possession of first place in district.

Carroll ends a three-game road stretch by returning home to host Keller at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dragon Stadium.

In the first quarter alone, he threw four TD passes and had a 56-yard TD run. After Northwest took a 14-7, the Dragons rattled off 56 consecutive points. Carroll led 35-14 after the first quarter and 56-14 at halftime.

Carroll’s top receiver was Keaton Duhon, who had three TDs. Joe Heineman had two TD receptions as the Dragon offense put up 675 total yards.

The Dragon defense responded with several big plays and shut down the Texans after their early outburst. Carroll’s secondary produced two interceptions – Adaryan Jones and Brett Lepicier. Northwest was held to just 64 yards rushing.
