Dragon Sports News: Football Wins 5th Straight

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – The Carroll Dragon football team, ranked No. 8 in the state, won its fifth consecutive game last Friday against Richland. The Dragons won 48-9 and improved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in District 4-5A. Carroll is tied for the district lead with Fossil Ridge.

This week the Dragons hit the road again to face Northwest. The Texans are 5-1 and 2-1 in district. This marks the Dragons’ third consecutive road game. Carroll junior quarterback Ryan Agnew was 18-of-23 for 266 yards with four TDs. He also rushed for 128 yards on 17 carries and one TD. Dragon receiver Luke Timian had the biggest game of his career with nine catches for 173 yards and four TDs.

Carroll produced 609 yards of offense and held Richland under 200 total yards.

Quarterfinal Tennis Postponed
The Carroll Dragon tennis team’s Class 5A area quarterfinal Tuesday was postponed due to wet conditions. The match was rescheduled for 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Carroll Senior High School courts. The Dragons face Weatherford.

Lady Dragon Volleyball Hosts Haltom
The No. 1 state-ranked Lady Dragon volleyball team hosts Haltom at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Carroll Senior High School. The Lady Dragons remain undefeated in District 4-5A.
