Former Professional Tennis Star Visits Dragons

The Carroll Dragon tennis team had a special guest speaker Thursday morning at the Carroll Senior High School courts.

Former tennis star Mark Knowles visited the team and talked about his professional career and the life lessons the sports teaches. Knowles, who lives in Southlake and has children in Carroll ISD, answered questions and offered to play doubles in the future with the team. Knowles was a standout doubles player and won 55 titles during his career and retired in 2012.

The world’s former No. 1-ranked doubles player won championships at the French Open, U.S. Open and Australian Open and won a mixed doubles title at Wimbledon.

Knowles is currently a broadcaster for the Tennis Channel.
