Auditions Set for 30th Annual Variety Show

Do you have a talent you would love to show off in front of an appreciative local crowd?  The Carroll Senior High School Dragon Choir Booster Club is looking for Southlake residents to perform in the 30th Annual Variety Show on February 21 and 22, 2013.

Auditions are open to the Southlake community and registration begins December 13.  Interested residents are asked to register for an audition by going to the choir website, www.dragonchoir.net to submit an online registration form.  Registration ends on January 17, 2014.  Audition fees are $5 for individuals/duets and $10 for groups of three or more to be paid at auditions.  Acts will have a four-minute maximum time limit and all pre-recorded music must be submitted as part of the online registration form in an mp3/mp4 format.  Notifications for audition date and time will be posted on the website on January 22.  Auditions will take place on January 28 and 29, from 4-9 pm in the choir room at Carroll Senior High School, 1501 West Southlake Blvd., in Southlake.  Finally, audition selections will be posted by February 7 on the same choir website, www.dragonchoir.net.  Dress Rehearsals will take place on February 17 and 18.

The Variety Show has been a community institution for thirty years.  The participation in this event grows every year, and up to 150 performers and acts are expected to audition this year.  Last year’s show included entertainers of all ages from many different backgrounds.  Highlights included performances by the several local dance studios, the Green Man Group, and several talented CISD administrators.  The Carroll High School Show Choirs will also perform.

The show will take place on February 21 and 22 in the Carroll Senior High School auditorium beginning at 7 pm both nights. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults for each night.  New this year – $5 tickets will be sold to CISD employees who show their ID badge when purchasing tickets.  Be sure to come both nights because each evening is a different show with different performances!

Businesses are encouraged to help sponsor the event and purchase advertising in the Variety Show program book.  More details can be found on the choir website.  Proceeds from the variety Show are used for choir scholarships, music and equipment, as well as the end-of-year choir banquet.
