Around the Horn: Dragons Ranked No. 1 in State

BaseballLightsThe Carroll Dragon baseball team’s impressive start to the season has extended into District 4-5A action. It has also caught the attention of state-wide coaches voting on the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association poll. The Dragons are ranked No. 1 in Class 5A and are 16-1 overall and 2-0 in district action.

The Dragons are coming off a 10-0 victory last Friday against Timber Creek. Carroll hosts Richland Tuesday at 7 p.m. and Carroll Elementary School students wearing a Dragon T-shirt get free admission and will be allowed on the field for the first pitch and receive free popcorn. Each Tuesday home game a CISD elementary school is recognized.

Lady Dragons Host Keller Tuesday
The Lady Dragon softball team will look to get back on track Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. against the Keller Lady Indians. The Lady Dragons are 10-9 overall and 1-3 in District 4-5A. Carroll has suffered four consecutive losses by a combined six runs, which includes two one-run district losses.

Play It Forward Donation Drive
Play It Forward Southlake will host a donation drive at Tuesday’s Lady Dragon softball and Dragon baseball games. The organization, led by Carroll students, will be accepting sporting good items at the gate. The group donates sports equipment to sports organizations in need.
