The Carroll Dragon boys’ soccer team is making a push for the playoffs. The Dragons have moved into third place in District 4-5A at 5-3-4. Richland and Fossil Ridge are tied for first place at 8-1-3. The top four teams qualify for the postseason. If the Dragons win their final two games, they will clinch a playoff berth. If they split the final two, they will need help from other teams.
Carroll has won back-to-back games against Northwest (3-0) and Keller (3-2). The Dragons have two remaining district games – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fossil Ridge; 7:30 p.m. Friday at Dragon Stadium vs. Haltom (Senior Night).
Lady Dragons Suffer First Loss, Remain Atop 4-5A
The Carroll Lady Dragon soccer team recently suffered its first loss of the season 1-0 to Keller. The Lady Dragons (17-1-1) remain the District 4-5A leader at 11-1 with two games left in the regular season this week. Keller holds second place at 10-1-1. The Lady Dragons bounced back following the loss with a 4-0 victory against Keller Central.
The Lady Dragons, who have clinched a playoff berth, host Senior Night at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. It will also be community night. All students up to 8th grade receive free admission by wearing their soccer jersey. Carroll closes district play Friday at 7:15 p.m. against Haltom at old Birdville Stadium.
