DFW Airport to Close Runway for Runway Shoulder Repair

DFW_airpot-300x300The City of Southlake has received the following information from the DFW Airport Noise Office

DFW plans to close Runway 18L/36R for the weekend period of 10:45 p.m. on Friday, May 16 through 4:00 p.m., Sunday May 18.  This closure will be for runway shoulder repair.  The National Weather Service is forecasting south flow winds for the entire period with gusts as high as 23 – 25 mph Friday night and Sunday afternoon.

If this forecast remains valid air traffic will remain in the normal south flow pattern.  If the winds shift to the north during the runway shoulder repair period, the FAA may have to launch jets over the cities of Southlake and Grapevine.

We encourage citizens with inquiries or complaints to contact us.  The telephone hotline is manned 24/7 and is 972-973-3192.  The web address for the Noise Office is dfwnoise@dfwairport.com.  Follow-up response calls and emails will be provided when requested.
