Rotary Club Hosts Public Safety Celebration

The dedicated members of the Southlake DPS are committed to serving the community by creating a safe and secure environment for the residents and visitors.  It is through their dedication that Southlake continues to maintain the attractiveness of a vibrant and safe environment in which to live and work.

The Rotary Club of Southlake will honor these dedicated individuals at the annual DPS Appreciation Celebration on Saturday, June 7, at the gazebo in Southlake Town Square.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. visitors will find fire engines, police cars and motorcycles, as well as live music, children’s activities, a blood drive, free food and refreshments. The Rotary Club of Southlake would like to thank Freedom Powersports and Life’s Medicine who are our Chief Sponsors for the event.  Our Captain Sponsor is The SMS Land & Cattle Co. LLC. Other local sponsors include Park Place Lexus, Cephas Partners, The Alonzo Family- Robert, Pam and Allison, Rutherford Realty, LLC, Juli Bledsoe, Realtor, Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc.,Allstate Insurance–Benny Cartlidge Agency, Unified Services of Texas, Inc. and many others. Donations from our local sponsors will help fund scholarships for the children of local public service workers. Last year’s event allowed the Southlake Rotary club to award $3000 in college scholarships to our DPS families.

Attendance is free and the public is encouraged to stop by to show their appreciation and support.

Entertainment will include Hall Music Productions, Floor Invasion Dance Crew, Miss Southlake, Elise Martinez and Miss Teen Southlake, Holly Morgan.

Other local businesses participating will be The Home Depot, Rita’s Italian Ice, The Owl’s Nest, Cristinas, Jersey Mike’s Sub and Dickey’s BBQ.

Christine Singh, chairperson of the event, said, “For the last 10 years, The Rotary Club of Southlake is delighted to honor our DPS.  This is our opportunity to recognize all of them. We would like to invite the public to join in our celebration!”

Southlake Noon Rotary Club is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization and is part of Rotary International. They meet on Fridays from 12N -1 pm at the Timarron Country Club.   Rotary International is the world’s first service club organization, with more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs worldwide. Rotary Club members are volunteers who work locally, regionally, and internationally to combat hunger, improve health and sanitation, provide education and job training, promote peace and eradicate polio under the motto Service Above Self.
