Dragons Fall to Flower Mound in Region Semifinals

The Carroll Dragons’ baseball season came to an end Saturday in a deciding Game 3 vs. Flower Mound in the Class 5A Region I semifinals.

The Dragons lost 8-7 after Flower Mound rallied with three runs in the bottom of the seventh inning at Dallas Baptist to win the series. In the top half of the ninth, the Dragons provided a rally with four runs to take a 7-5 lead after trailing the entire game. The Dragons finished the season 31-6 and were District 4-5A champions.

Flower Mound won the series opener at home 6-4 on Thursday after rallying from a 4-0 deficit in the top of the first inning. Carroll rebounded and won the second game at CSHS 4-2 behind pitcher Joe Heineman, who tossed a complete game. The three games in the series were decided by a total of five runs.
