Carroll ISD is continually looking to add new talent to strengthen the school district and enhance student’s learning experience. Carroll’s new Executive Director for Curriculum and Instruction is continuing that tradition. Peddy was named to this role during Monday’s School Board meeting.
Peddy is no stranger to education, as she is completing her 28th year in public education and four years as the Coordinator for GT/Advanced Academics/7-12 English Language Arts/Social Studies in Carroll ISD. For three years, she was an Assistant Principal at Coppell High School, had eight years as the Advanced Placement English Teacher at Coppell and 13 years as the middle school English teacher in Irving ISD.
Peddy has helped facilitate staff development in the advanced placement program at Carroll, and has increased student achievement and participation in Advanced Placement. She participates in the Southlake Association of Gifted and Talented and AP Booster Groups. She goes to various school’s PTO groups (Parent Teacher Organization) and monthly “brown bag” meetings with schools to evaluate advanced academics and how they can improve. These community and parent organizations further her involvement in the Southlake Community.
“I am both excited and honored to be given the opportunity to work as the Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction,” Peddy said. “Carroll ISD has some of the most talented students and teachers in the State of Texas. I look forward to serving alongside our talented curriculum team, as we continue to protect the District’s rich tradition of excellence. With such outstanding students, staff and community collaborating together we hope to continue to inspire young people to lead the way in all their educational endeavors.”
Peddy completed her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Sam Houston State University and has a Bachelor’s of Arts in Secondary Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington. She has one daughter, Jennifer, who recently graduated from the University of Missouri.
