Former Lady Dragon Cat McCoy helped the Women’s Junior National Team win the gold in Guatemala.

Former Carroll Lady Dragon volleyball standout Cat McCoy spent her summer playing and traveling with the U.S. Women’s Junior National Team.

The highlight came July 13 when McCoy helped lead the US to gold with a U20 NORCECA Continental Championship in a straight-set victory against Cuba – 25-15, 25-22, 25-16. It marked the team’s fourth consecutive victory in Guatemala City, Guatemala. Team USA has won gold at five of the last six Continental Championships.

McCoy, who plays libero and will play at the University of Texas, was one of two Texans on the 12-player roster. Click here to read the game story and see the roster.
