DFW Airport Announces Closure of Runway 18R/36L

The City of Southlake has received the following information from the DFW Noise Compatibility Office: 

DFW plans to close Runway 18R/36L at 1045PM today, Friday, 31 October, through 4PM this Sunday, 2 November. This period will be used to perform scheduled maintenance projects including upgrades to runway lighting, FAA airfield systems construction, and other repair, upgrade and maintenance activities.   Aircraft that would have used the runway during the closure will be dispersed among the operational runways.

The National Weather Service currently forecasts north winds today through Saturday morning.  Depending upon air traffic requirements it is possible that the FAA will need to use Runway 13R/31L, the west diagonal runway, for jet departures.
